Nature's Ways

Nature can be cruel and unfair,
A truth that can't be denied,
As the cuckoo baby cheats and steals,
Leaving the host mummy's eggs to die.

The host works hard to build her nest,
To raise her family with care,
But the cuckoo's sly and cunning ways,
Leave her babies with little to spare.

The cuckoo's hatchling, strong and bold,
Kills the host's eggs, one by one,
Leaving the host with nothing to hold,
Her babies gone, her work undone.


Nature can be harsh and unkind,
With no regard for right or wrong,
But we must try to understand,
This is just how nature belongs.

It's not just the cuckoo, it's all around
Nature can be cruel and harsh
From the lions hunting down the deer that bound
To the storm destroying cities in a flash

But we can't hate nature, it's a part of our lives
We must learn to accept and understand
For in the end, it's all about survival and thrives
Nature is just being nature, As it is what is demand

When I see life

When I see life as a garden, I see flowers, trees and lots of fun, I also see pests and weeds, But when i clear them, I get my needs. When I see life as a tree, I feel like leaves high up and free, Then comes the autumn and I shed down, But then comes spring: a new dawn.  When I see life as the sky, I feel like a bird and I can fly!! I also see clouds that make me feel low, But only clouds can bring rains and a rainbow.

Cradle- That’s life

On 28 th march 1990, I was born, So little was I, wrapped in a pink blanket, I was brought to my mother all clean, And was put in a cradle, A little wooden rocking cradle, For a little sweet baby me! My daddy came in to see his child, Admiring my little hands, so mild, He was lost in a new fathers’ world; Looking at me seeing him from the cradle, Yawning with my small mouth open, My dad felt, to him I had spoken! I grew up playing in my cradle, time passed, With dolls, teddies and ribbons, I slept there in my baby bed; Protected in a pink mosquito net, And cried out for my mommy, As I got up… “Maini”, that’s what I said.
